JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP — Part of a growing early childhood program in the Hudsonville school district would move into a church building under a lease approved by the Board of Education.
As many as 85 students could attend preschool next fall at Jamestown
Reformed Church, 2554 Riley St. In coming days, the church’s board is
expected to approve a two-year lease of two classrooms for an annual
cost of $16,293.
“We have the space and during the week it really just sits empty,”
said Andre Batt, church pastor. “It’s a way the church can serve the
community, and it’s always nice to have people coming in through the
doors of the church.”
Unlike many area school districts, Hudsonville continues to grow. Census numbers released this spring show Jamestown Township among the fastest-growing communities in West Michigan.
